Daily Prayer – Pray ACTS
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
“Let me experience your faithful love in the morning, for I trust in you.
Reveal to me the way I should go because I appeal to you.”
There is so much about You that we are not able to know.
You are beyond our knowledge and understanding.
And yet in Your grace You have not hidden Yourself from us but made Yourself known.
We praise You that You have spoken.
You have spoken in creation, declaring Your glory, and revealing Your majesty to us through what You have made,
so that we can know that You exist,
that You are eternal and all-powerful,
wise and good,
and worthy of our worship.
You have also thankfully spoken through Your Word which is perfect, sure, right, pure, clean, true, and righteous.
Because without this, our knowledge would be limited, and we would still be in dark concerning how we can be saved by Jesus, our Rock and Redeemer,
and live a life that is acceptable to You.
Forgive us all our trespasses Lord, for each day we sin against You in our thoughts, our words, and our deeds.
Especially we have sinned in the area of sexual immorality.
We are convicted by the weight of those words which You have spoken, that there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, that it is Your will, our sanctification that we abstain from it.
Yet we do not control our own bodies in holiness as we should.
We lust after what we should not.
We thank You that there is forgiveness available for us because we have a High Priest, who though tempted in every way did not sin, and did not like other high priests, need to offer sacrifices for his own sins and then for the sins of the people.
We thank You that when Jesus offered Himself up for us on the cross, He did so once for all time, and by doing so, has made us holy and blameless in Your sight.
May, loving Father, our gentleness be evident to all, as we bear with one another in love.
Give us a heart like Christ’s who was gentle in heart and would this lead to serving others in a gentle manner, not treating them harshly but blessing them.
Remind us to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle towards everyone, especially with our words that we find easy to put down others with.
Holy Spirit give us the strength we need to be gentle in how we respond to those who oppose us.
We thank You Almighty God, that through Your Son’s death, all that divides us from one another, those walls that separate us, have been overcome.
And we are grateful for the unity we have as a local church, a unity which You, Lord, have given to us by Your Spirit.
We want this to continue, and so we ask for Your help in maintaining it.
Would this church be a place where there is no discrimination at all.
Expose by Your Word to where there is partiality in our hearts and bring us to repent of this sin.
We pray that we would love everyone in the church, including those with whom we have nothing in common but the gospel.
Father, we pray for our pastors and elders, that they would serve as heads of their households.
For those who have children in the home, would they raise them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord, and not allow them to be insubordinate or wild.
Help them to exercise a humble, loving leadership over their children, and not be tyrants who gains submission by force, manipulation, or oppression.
Lord, save, bless, shepherd, and carry us forever.
Provide for all our physical and spiritual needs.
Give today, the daily bread we need: the gifts, time, resources, energy, and health we need to live for Your glory.
Protect us from the evil one and from giving into the temptation to sin.
