Daily Prayer – Pray ACTS
“Let me experience your faithful love in the morning, for I trust in you.
Reveal to me the way I should go because I appeal to you.”
Receive our praise O God,
for You are great.
No-one and nothing in heaven or on earth can do the deeds and mighty works that You do.
You are God Almighty.
We bless Your glorious Name.
We say, “How great is Your goodness.”
You are good and You do good.
You are good to all you have made.
You cause the sun to rise and send rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
Every good and perfect gift comes from You.
And yet in a special way You have been good to us by revealing in Your Son that You are a gracious and merciful God, by saving us from the wrath that was coming to us because of our sin.
May Your goodness pass before us, we pray, so that we might taste and see that You, our Lord, really and truly are good.
You, O Lord, have brought us out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and have set our feet upon a rock.
You have put a new song in our mouths, a song of praise to You our God.
Why then do we at different times during the day turn from You?
We confess that there are frequent moments when instead of doing the good we now want to do, the evil that we do not want is what we keep on doing.
It is true that evil still lies close at hand, and clings to us.
Help us to repent and experience again the blessing which comes from knowing our sins have been blotted out.
We thank You that the blood of Jesus washes them all away.
Kind and gracious Lord, as You have shown Your kindness towards us, help us to be kind and compassionate towards others in all that we do.
Each day, would we clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
Would we show kindness to everyone, not just those who we like or find easy to get along with.
Enable us to be kind in our thoughts, and words, and our actions towards those who in the past have hurt us, and to forgive as, in Christ, You have forgiven us.
Change our hearts, Lord, so that we want what is best for others and we reach out to meet their needs and serve them practically, even when it is costly for us to do so.
Lord, save, bless, shepherd, and carry us forever.
Provide for all our physical and spiritual needs.
Give today, the daily bread we need: the gifts, time, resources, energy, and health we need to live for Your glory.
Protect us from the evil one and from giving into the temptation to sin.
