Daily Prayer – Pray ACTS
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
“Let me experience your faithful love in the morning, for I trust in you.
Reveal to me the way I should go because I appeal to you.”
Holy, Holy, Holy, are You O Lord Almighty.
You are high and exalted.
Your Name is holy and awesome.
There is no one holy like You.
There is no one besides You.
Your ways are holy and just.
Your deeds and works are holy and perfect in every way.
There is no unrighteousness found in You.
And though Your eyes are too pure to look on evil and You cannot tolerate wrongdoing, You have made us Your holy people.
Choosing us from before foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in Your sight.
We praise You.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus.
Help us to be holy as You our God are holy.
We pray “Hallowed be Your Name.”
Our God, how slow of heart we are to understand and believe all that Your Word says.
We have not made the progress in following Christ that we should have done by now.
We are still needing to be taught the basic principles of Your revelation again, because we are not mature enough to cope with the solid food in Your Word.
We hear what You have said, yet we often don’t listen.
Our hearts are distracted by the things of this world.
Forgive us and may we hear afresh Jesus say to us, “Friend, your sins are forgiven,” because You have given to us the faith to believe in Him.
We give You thanks and praise that through His blood shed on the cross, we have redemption, the forgiveness of our sins.
Faithful and unchanging God, we pray that we would Your faithful people.
We thank You for the examples in Scripture, and the lives of those we know who have proved themselves faithful to Jesus, and we ask for Your Spirit’s help in following their footsteps by running with perseverance the race marked out for us.
Give us the strength to resist anything that would distract us from following Christ and would pull our hearts away from wholehearted devotion to Him.
Help us to be trustworthy and dependable, those whom others can rely on, and to be faithful stewards of the gifts You give to us to serve others with, so that in the future we might hear You say to us “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
What a joy it is, our God, that You have organised the church to be led by faithful elders, who You call to shepherd the flock.
We thank You for Your wisdom and we pray that we would trust You by submitting to the leaders You have given to us, and by making their work a joy.
We pray for spiritual lives of our elders, that they each would be growing in the grace and knowledge of Christ.
We pray that their marriages would be strong, and that their families would be encouraged and supported by the church.
Keep our elders from temptation, complacency, idols, and worldliness.
And grant to them a deep love for those whom Christ has shed His blood for.
Your Word, Lord Jesus, tells us that our pastors and elders must not be excessive drinkers of alcohol.
On this matter, we pray that You would deepen their convictions about alcohol so that they can partake or abstain with freedom and confidence.
Help them to never violate their conscience, never unfairly pass judgment on others, and never flaunt their freedom.
Make them more like Christ, who was around alcohol and those who consumed it but never overindulged and always obeyed the Father.
We pray that they would be able to enjoy Your gifts without becoming enslaved to them, and that You would give them victory over all indulgence and addiction.
Great God, help them to never relax their guard but always be vigilant in this area.
Lord, save, bless, shepherd, and carry us forever.
Provide for all our physical and spiritual needs.
Give today, the daily bread we need: the gifts, time, resources, energy, and health we need to live for Your glory.
Protect us from the evil one and from giving into the temptation to sin.
