Daily Prayer – Pray ACTS
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
“Let me experience your faithful love in the morning, for I trust in you.
Reveal to me the way I should go because I appeal to you.”
God, You are our refuge and strength.
We praise You that we can trust You to protect us from danger,
for Jesus can rescue us from Your anger and judgment at our sin.
We praise You that in You we have protection from all our enemies and have no need to be afraid of them.
For You hold us fast, giving us the assurance that no power of hell or scheme of man will be able to every pluck us from Your strong hand.
We praise You that You can give us the help we need in times of trouble,
ensuring that everything works for our good to make us more like Christ,
and that the work that has already begun in us is brought to completion.
We confess to You, loving Lord God, that we rely on our own understanding and do not acknowledge You in all our ways.
We foolishly do not trust in You with all our hearts and move off the narrow way that is best for us.
We are proud and think more highly of ourselves that we should.
We return to You now, because You are the One who has redeemed us,
and we beg of You not to let our sin ruin us,
for You are able to save us from all our sins and all their consequences.
We give You our thanks, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who purifies us from all sin,
for giving us new birth in a living hope through His resurrection from the dead.
In this we greatly rejoice.
Help us to have no other gods before You.
To not put anything or anyone in Your place, for You alone are our Creator and our Redeemer.
Help us to worship You, to adore You, to listen to You, to trust You, to obey You, to serve You, and to live for You more than anything else.
Give us the strength we need to resist the schemes of the devil which would have us makes other things –
our possessions, wealth, hobbies, interests, talents, family members and friends – as more important than You.
Today may we eagerly seek You and love You above all things.
We thank You our God for the mix of younger and older believers we have in this church, and we pray that we would be a church where those who are older in the faith, teach and encourage those who are younger.
Help everyone in the church to speak the truth of God’s Word to one another in love, so that we all, together, grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
And would sharing with others what we are learning about You from Your Word, and praying with one another outside the formal gatherings of the church, become a normal part of our life together.
Holy Spirit, make our pastors and elders more like Christ, so that they may be gentle just like He is gentle.
Help them to regularly consider all the ways You have been so patient and gentle and in response would they not be combative or prone to lash out at others, and instead be approachable, even to those who disagree with them or who wish to confront them.
Grant them the grace they need to be kind and patient in dealing with others, and to be sensitive to the feelings of others, so that their words and actions reflect tenderness and promote healing.
Lord, save, bless, shepherd, and carry us forever.
Provide for all our physical and spiritual needs.
Give today, the daily bread we need: the gifts, time, resources, energy, and health we need to live for Your glory.
Protect us from the evil one and from giving into the temptation to sin.
