Daily Prayer – Pray ACTS
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
“Let me experience your faithful love in the morning, for I trust in you.
Reveal to me the way I should go because I appeal to you.”
Loving Lord God,
We come to You who are love.
There has never been a time when You have not been love.
For You, God the Father, have always loved the Son and the Holy Spirit.
And You, God the Son, have always loved the Father and the Holy Spirit.
And You, God the Holy Spirit, have always loved the Father and the Son.
You are love and we praise You that Your love is so great that it overflowed to create this world where Your love could be enjoyed by others.
And we praise You that even after creation, Your love continued to overflow,
because though all humanity rejected Your love,
You continued to love them and made this known by sending Your Son to be our Saviour,
to be the propitiation for us,
that sacrifice which turns away the wrath we deserve because of our sin.
How great Your love for us must be that You would do this for us, and then give to us the faith to believe in Christ so that we can be called Your children.
Help us to love You in return with all our hearts and soul and mind and strength.
Forgive us, Father, we pray.
Have mercy on us, sinners, for we have sinned against heaven and before You, and have not honoured You as we should.
We have not obeyed the laws which You have set before us in Your Word even though they are holy, righteous, and good.
As we acknowledge our transgressions, which are many, wash us and we will be whiter than snow.
Hide Your face from looking on our sins and blot out our iniquities.
Thank You that in Jesus, we are justified freely from all our sins because we could never be justified from them by keeping the law.
What a great Redeemer He is and what great deliverance He gives to us.
Thank you, Lord, for the wisdom You generously and ungrudgingly give to all who ask You for it.
We pray that we would be those who seek it and put our energy into knowing You more deeply and Your ways more clearly.
Help us to treasure the truth found in Your Word.
Give us insight and understanding of what it means so that we make wise choices and walk in a manner which pleases you.
With many voices competing for our attention today, enable us to discern what is true wisdom that comes from You, and what is of the world.
We pray, Lord God, for the preaching of Your Word that happens at this local church.
Provide for us preachers who show us Jesus, who will preach the full counsel of God’s Word, and who will not shrink back from the hard passages and hard truths of Scripture.
Help them as they prepare sermons to correctly handle the word of truth.
Help us as we listen, to hear the voice of Christ as He speak to us, through them.
May He teach, rebuke, correct, and train us, and may we respond with faith and obedience.
As Your Word goes forth may it lead to the salvation of sinners, the building up of Your people, and ultimately bring glory to Your Name.
Great Shepherd, we want our pastors and elders to take delight in whatever delights You, and to be those who are eager to see the good.
So, we pray for them, that they would willingly avoid whatever has an evil influence over them or those they care for.
Help them to be known not only for the evils they are against, but also for the good they are for.
Lord, save, bless, shepherd, and carry us forever.
Provide for all our physical and spiritual needs.
Give today, the daily bread we need: the gifts, time, resources, energy, and health we need to live for Your glory.
Protect us from the evil one and from giving into the temptation to sin.
