Daily Prayer – Pray ACTS
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
“Let me experience your faithful love in the morning, for I trust in you.
Reveal to me the way I should go because I appeal to you.”
Immortal, invisible, God only wise.
Vast in power.
Infinite in understanding.
To You be the glory forever.
Deep is Your wisdom and knowledge.
You know all things.
The exact number of stars in the sky and the exact number of hairs on our heads.
Even the secret thoughts and inclinations of our hearts, that no-one else knows about, You do.
All our days are written in Your book and planned before every single one of them began.
Before a word is on our tongues You know what we are going to say.
We praise You that You have this wisdom and knowledge, and that You use it to work all things for the good of those who love You.
Heavenly Father, even on our best days, we still sin against You, more frequently that we would care to admit.
As those who have been made holy and blameless in Your sight, we do not walk in obedience as we should.
As those who have experienced Your love, we do not love You with all our heart and soul and mind and strength.
We seek Your grace and mercy again, trusting that Jesus has taken the punishment we deserve for us at the cross, and His righteousness is now ours.
We thank You that one day our struggle with sin will be over, and we will live forever with Jesus in the place He has prepared for us.
Convict us Lord with the tenth commandment, “You shall not covet” because You know how prone we are to be dissatisfied with our allotted situation in life.
Deliver us from envying the situation of others and grumbling in our hearts about the good they enjoy.
Help us to learn to be content in any and every situation.
Make us grateful for all that You have given to us, to count our blessings, and protect our hearts from being captivated by the spirit of the world which is never satisfied.
May we believe that as we seek first Your kingdom You will provide all that we need.
We praise You our great God and Saviour,
that one day Your Son Jesus will return to gather His people
and bring them safely to the new heavens and new earth.
Increase our longing as a local church for that day to come, and for being with the Lord in heaven.
While we wait preserve us in the faith and help us to press on in hope.
Lift us up when we are struggling to keep going, and remind us that whatever loss we experience in this life will be more than made up for in the life to come.
Keep our eyes fixed on Christ who not only is the author of our faith but the finisher too.
For each of our pastors and elders,
we pray that You would continue to give them a desire to serve You, Lord Jesus, as one of Your under-shepherds,
and may the ministry You have called them to, continue to be a delight for them to carry out.
Lord, save, bless, shepherd, and carry us forever.
Provide for all our physical and spiritual needs.
Give today, the daily bread we need: the gifts, time, resources, energy, and health we need to live for Your glory.
Protect us from the evil one and from giving into the temptation to sin.
