Here’s an idea for a kids talk in church on 1 Corinthians 12:12-31…
[Powerpoint for this talk HERE]
Aren’t arms great!
I’m so glad I’m not a snake because snakes don’t have arms.
Arms are great because you can use them to…
- Drive a car
- Play tennis
- Pick up food to put it into your mouth
If you break your arm it would be a right pain. You wouldn’t be able to do all sorts of things. Your body wouldn’t be working properly.
In the Bible we are told that the church is like a body. It made up of lots of people who God has given the gifting to do different things, but together they are to work as one.
“The body is a unit, though it is made of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ” (1 Corinthians 12:12)
This means in the church there are lots of arms.
May be the arms are the people who teach the Bible.
May be they are the people who make the church look so beautiful every Sunday.
May be it’s the music group.
It would be bad news if the church broke its arm – it wouldn’t work properly.
Everyone has a job to do in church, and they are all important and need to be done if church is to work properly.
So next time you wave – remember you might be an arm – and think am I a working arm or a broken arm?
