What or who are the following people protecting? (Crown Jewels; Prime Minister; Footballers; President of USA; Prison)
Jesus has died on the cross.
His body is dead and was placed in the tomb by Joseph of Arimathea.
But this was not the end of the story.
Because the religious leaders were worried about something.
“Sir, we remember that while he was still alive the deceiver said, ‘After three days I will rise again.’ So give the order for the tomb to be made secure until the third day. Otherwise, his disciples may come and steal the body and tell people that he has been raised from the dead.” (Matthew 27:63-64)
The religious leaders were worried that the disciples would steal Jesus’ body and say He had been raised from the dead.
So guards were placed by the tomb to stop anyone from stealing Jesus’ dead body.
There’s no way anyone could steal the body.
It won’t be stolen, but something will happen to it.
