The Big Bible Adventure – 1 Kings 1-10 (Download Powerpoint)
If a genie offered you three wishes, what would you wish for? [Mansion; Money; Happiness; Love; World Peace; More Wishes]
In the next part of the Big Bible Adventure we’re going to see what someone says when he is told he can ask for anything..
After the Ark was moved to Jerusalem, God made some amazing promises to King David. He told him that his son would be king and that one of his family members would reign forever.
That king would always love God and obey His Word.
It couldn’t be David. Although he loved God, he didn’t always obey His Word.
What about his son Solomon? Could it be him?
At first it looked like Solomon might be that king. “The LORD appeared to Solomon, and God said, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.” (1 Kings 3:5)
What would Solomon say?
“So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong.” (1 Kings 3:9)
Solomon’s answer showed that he loved God and wanted to do what God said.
Another thing Solomon did was build the temple. A special building where God would live amongst His people.
So it seems like Solomon was that king who would reign forever.
But was he?
Would he always love God and obey His Word?
